The collage is largely dominated by shades of blue, supported by pink and red accents. The lines are straight and curved. They connect the different levels of the picture with each other. The protagonist's smile catches the eye of the viewer. The shoe, which gives the collage its name, disappears in the picture's network of forms. Excerpts from contemporary magazines are also used for this composition and combined with parts from modern glossy magazines.
